 A Cancer Centre for the Future, with Olivia Newton-John's name Olivia Newton-John is renowned for her passionate views on a number of social issues and improvements to cancer care in particular. Since recovering from breast cancer in 1993, she has been a committed advocate of screening, education and research to find new cancer cures. She has also been a strong voice for attention to the person, not just the cancer. Consequently, Olivia has been keen to see the further development of patient-centred, complementary care approaches - and her vision is to create a place dedicated to the non-medical aspects of treatment. In view of this background, the Board of Austin Health is delighted that Olivia Newton-John has given her name to the new state-of the-art health care initiative: The Olivia Newton-John Cancer Centre.
