How you can help

The development of a single Cancer Centre will create a number of significant advantages for both patients and the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Centre alike. The already extensive Austin Health campus will be complemented with a range of new facilities, including:
  • The Wellness Centre, which will bring a range of patient-centred complementary therapies to the mix (see below)
  • Radiotherapy centre
  • Inpatient facilities for acute and palliative care patients
  • Clinical research centre
  • An education and resource centre

 illustration The outcome will be the most comprehensive range of cancer services in Victoria. This infrastructure will also facilitate the principle of 'continuity of care' that underpins the Centre's philosophy, assisted by dedicated cancer care coordinators and multi-disciplinary teams.

This seamless, patient-focused approach and unique combination of treatments and natural, complementary programs will make the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Centre like no other cancer centre in Australia – or, indeed, in the Southern Hemisphere.

 The Wellness Centre
In line with Olivia Newton-John's beliefs in treating the whole of the person, the Wellness Centre will provide a range of complementary therapies that will work in tandem with a patient's clinical therapy.

These will include:
  • Cancer support programs
  • Peer support groups
  • Meditation
  • Relaxation
  • Art therapy
  • Music therapy
  • Nutrition
  • Exercise
  • Aromatherapy
